Ninth 30 Minute Entry

Date Finished: November 21, 2024

My second attempt on the snow leopardess character. Still has no name, and haven't really drawn her since the first 30 minute draw. First one in which I finished well before the timer went off. And it kinda shows. I also got a bit impatient and erased the lines a bit too early while the ink was drying. I decided to try traditional instead of digital this time for the sake of changing pace. I should have spent a bit more time sketching it out before going to inking, and it shows in a few areas.

Aside from a few anatomy mistakes, I do feel like I am getting a bit closer to what her design will be like. Like Thomas Edison said, "Each time you fail, you have eliminated another wrong option." While it's something you don't want to hear from a surgeon mid-surgery, it applies well to designing stuff. I got a few wrong options eliminated with this current drawing. What might be a good idea some time would be to work on the character a few more times when not doing a 30 minute session. I might do a few more of these on paper. Of course, since it is on paper and not on Clip Studio Paint, I can't get a time lapse out of it. And no, I will not be spending money or be doing weird camera shenanigans to do recording. My desk is crowded as is.

A thing I often forget about traditional media is how things become permanent. No second chances, no second guesses, no ctrl+z. You gotta live with what you got and move on. It's actually kind of refreshing in some way.
