Post 30 Minute Artworks

Welcome!

This gallery is the artworks that I chose to work on after the timer went off. Meaning I chose to continue or "finish" if you will. Not all 30 minute artworks needed more time to work on nor did I have the time or interest. Which happened to be a bit fewer than I thought. That being said, I do like how these turned out.

I had to double check to see when this drawing happened, and sure enough, it took place after the worst 30 minute artwork. When I fail on an artwork hardcore, I tend to come back with a vengeance. While I think it's alright now, back then I felt good about it. Especially since I don't draw humans too often. Ironically, I find humans easier to draw than furry/anthro characters. Faces are a whole lot easier.

If you only saw the 30 minute version of this, you'll notice a few changes with the coloring. I enjoyed working on this one, so I just continued from there. I really do think how it turned out was much better than the 30 minute version.

Same story as the crow-wolf barbarian. I simply enjoyed working on this one. I applied a little trick that I learned from my first commission and threw a circle in the back to help the character pop out a bit more. It also felt like since this fellow is a crusader pilgrim, that he ought to have something sun-like behind him.

The only change I made to this one was adding in lines around the character for a more dramatic effect. Timer ran out before I could get those added in, thought "screw it" and just added them in. In interest of transparency, I figured to count this seperate from the original 30 minute version.

Last one I decided to complete all the way due to mostly it being from the final 30 minute artwork entry. I think out of the ones I continued from, this one was my favorite one. Sure, there's a few minor mistakes, but I'd like to go further this this direction for my own style. While I understand that smoother line art is the hotness, I grew an appreciation for messiness over time.

And that is everything. Once more, thank you for taking your time in checking out my journey (for lack of a better term) in aiming to get better at art. I learned quite a few things while doing this. Some things, I did expect such as trusting myself a bit more. Some things I didn't expect, such as managing expectations. A failure to do that from the get go led to some terrible entries like the dreaded number 4. But sometimes, in order to manage expectations better, you have to fail. Sometimes that is the only way to learn. With not much else to say, I wish you all a wonderful day.
